‘First Supper’ is a captivating series of fourteen original figurative paintings, commissioned by Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown to become part of its permanent collection, marking the artist’s enduring presence in Dubai. "I am interested in the unusual juxtaposition of varied ethnicities united by pop culture and consumerism. ‘First Supper’ restages a classical work, replacing historic subjects with contemporary subjects of cultural diversity. In this day and age, it finally feels like there is a seat at the table for the deserving rather than the reserved. I continue to explore gestures and movement outside of the space-time continuum, creating a new perceived reality. In my body of work, I combine aspects of Renaissance iconography and fabrics with a fauvist style, delivering a modern composition with an interplay between subjects, objects, patterns and color blocks. I strive to create a visual language that speaks to our modern world and resonates with its viewers. This language is based on the concept of intersectionality, which is the idea that all human experiences are interconnected and intertwined.
